To Atlantic Wind and Solar Mr. Thomas W. Cleland, B.Sc. Eng, LE, ET, EET, brings a coveted balance of technical expertise and field experience combined with a spirit of entrepreneurship.

After a degree in Natural Sciences and Electrical Engineering at McMaster University he continued on to a Bachelors in Electronics Engineering at DeVry, Toronto / DeVry University, Arizona, later being offered the position of Dean of Physics, Mathematics and Robotics with the DeVry University group but opted to remain in the private sector, thankfully for us, choosing the practical over the theoretical. Besides being a Licensed Industrial Electrician, Certified Electronics Technician, and Certified Electronics Engineering Technologist he has published academic papers on energy  conversion and electronics with several innovative designs in Electrical Process & Control being featured in publications as “state of the art”.

In his 30 years in Canadian leading-edge high-tech he has helped create  companies, ground-breaking business management software, successful national sales programs, and a corporate merger/acquisition.

Tom is currently involved heavily with the privately owned Hybridyne group, holders of several patents relating to proprietary energy conversion-inversion, power-management, and interface technologies in the renewable energy arena.  Tom serves as President, CEO & Director of Technical Marketing for Hybridyne Power Systems Canada, the design and engineering group that leads the Hybridyne Group of Companies, assembled to focus on greenhouse gas reduction and renewable energy production. He is also President & CTO of Hybridyne Power Generation Corp. plus President & CEO of Hybridyne Power Electronics Inc. among other titles. The Hybridyne companies are quickly becoming recognized as a group with unique workable solutions.
